The Bank Australia, a digital first bank, required an easy to use yet flexible design system that could be used by non-design based team responsible for managing the site.
Paper Giant was responsible for building the design system from the ground up, iteratively building site features to adapt to the bank's evolving business needs.
I lead the redesign of Bank Australia’s information architecture. To identify user needs, I conducted a series of foundational interviews with customers to analyse the existing IA.
The research revealed that users wanted the IA to act as an index for the website, making it easier to discover all the products that were available. A common complain was that users often missed products which were hidden within pages.
A series of conceptual web and mobile IA prototypes were created and A/B tested to validate the designs, allowing the team to select a final design direction.
Bank Australia’s ethical framework and approach to banking are core to their brand values, distinguishing the bank from the competition. The team wanted to create a blog section to highlight their brand and commitment to community engagement, ethical banking practices and environmental protection.
I designed a modular blog that used colour coding to categorise articles by topics such as Impact, Money, People, Planet, News. A key consideration was ensuring the design could accommodate text, audio and video content, both as stand alone post and as part of a series.
